"Field Trip" to see Lady Liberty's Foot

Today we went on a pretend field trip to New York City to see Lady Liberty's foot. We wanted to know if her foot is longer or shorter than our class. As it turns out, her foot is longer than our class. Her foot is 25 feet long! We had a fun trip and were just exhausted when we got home!

Sorting Rocks

On one of those warm days before break, we went outside in the sunshine to sort rocks. The kiddos had a mixture of river rocks and their challenge was to sort them out into 3 sizes. And they did!

New Computer Aided Microscope

We used our new USB microscope to get a really close look at our rocks. It was super cool!

Starting our Science Unit on Earth Materials

We did our first investigation of our rocks. We looked at them with a hand, lens and rubbed them together to check for other properties. Touch here to see photos on mobile devices.

Meditation Lessons

We have a special classroom mom joining us on Wednesdays to teach the class how to meditate. The lessons are short and sweet, but give the kiddos another tool to use when they need to calm their bodies, etc.
